OVERVIEW OF BALDERDASH
Balderdash is a game of laughs and interesting guesses. When a word or statement is read aloud, each player will attempt to guess what it means or what it is associated with. Some answers will surprise you, especially the true ones!
Each category contains real, yet unbelievable information, regarding People, Words, Initials, and Movies; now includes a new category, Laughable Laws. Players each make up their own answer in hopes that others will vote for it to be the true one!
If a player earns a point, they may also progress one spot on the game board. The first player to the end of the board is the winner! keonhacai
SETUP
Setup is simple and easy. Ensure each player has an answer sheet, shuffle the cards and place them in the middle of the group alongside the game board. Each player should choose a mover and place them at the beginning of the game board. The game is ready to begin!
GAMEPLAY
To begin, choose a player to go first. There is no rule, so the group may decide this among themselves. When a player is decided, they first draw a card from the top of the deck. Then they roll the die to determine which category they will read from. After the category has been chosen, they will read the portion aloud.
Depending on the portion, players may be asked to provide a definition for a word, complete a statement, or guess what a person’s association is. After each player has answered on their answer sheet, they will pass their answers to the judge.
The judge will read the answers aloud to the group, providing them with time to mull through the answers and guess which is true. After all players have voted, points are tallied, and the next player becomes the judge.
If a player’s answer is voted as true by the majority, they earn a point and progress one space on the game board. If a player guesses which answer is true, they also earn a point and progress one space on the game board. Players that do not guess correct answers or have their answer chosen do not receive any points.
When a player reaches the end of the game board, the game comes to an end. That player is the winner!
END OF GAME
The game ends when a player reaches the end of the board. This player is the winner!
